29th Heritage Days
The theme of the 29th European Heritage Days is "roads, networks and connections".
"ROADS, NETWORKS AND CONNECTIONS".
The Principality of Monaco has been a renowned port since Antiquity, and a mecca for holidaymakers in the Belle Époque thanks to the arrival of the railroad. Throughout its history, the Principality has been at the heart of cultural exchanges.
Through its architectural, artistic and religious heritage, the Principality invites visitors to rediscover the traces and traces of history that have left their mark on its territory and are the foundation of its uniqueness. Today, its cultural heritage is illustrated in the fields of artistic creation, technological innovation and scientific knowledge.
On the occasion of these Days, cultural players, professionals and associations open their doors and invite us to discover their sites, testifying to the richness and diversity of Monaco's heritage.
The Principality has been taking part in the European Heritage Days since 1996. Initiated jointly by the Council of Europe and the European Union, this event is now celebrated by more than 50 European countries, which welcome nearly 30 million visitors every year. They have been organized since 2018 by the Institut du Patrimoine, under the aegis of the Direction des Affaires Culturelles. The success of this event relies on the commitment of its participants, whose involvement has once again enabled us to offer you a rich program. We'd like to thank them all.
