Summary :

Fernand Bois d'Enghien is the lover of Lucette Gautier, a café-concert singer. He doesn't have the courage to tell her he's going to sign his marriage contract with Viviane Duverger, a young woman with a nice dowry because she's the daughter of Baroness Duverger. The Mexican general Irrigua is courting Lucette, and when he learns she has a lover he wants to kill him. Bois-d'Enghien makes him believe it's Bouzin, a mediocre songwriter who has written a song for Lucette.
